README for Kcmbind 0.2.0

I started programming a front-end for bind when I heard about kbindconfig. As the code wasnt changed since Dec 97 (Now it is May 98) and I couldnt get in touch with Michael Glauche I started to develop from his source.

Now, kcmbind is a KCC app. and uses automake, autoconf etc. I am very pleased with the work Michael has done and I would like to say thank you.

Remember that this version of Kcmbind is still ALPHA, so be careful and always make a backup of your /etc/named.boot or /etc/named.conf and /var/named catalog.

Here is the original README for Michael Glauches KBindConfig: (Note that this info isn't up to date :)

README for KBindConfig 0.0.1pre1

*** COMPILE / INSTALL ***
To compile make sure your QTDIR and KDEDIR settings are set up correctly.
then use "make" to build it. No make install yet. (this is very alpha !)
Sorry, no automake (yet).

*** USAGE ***
KBindConfig accepts the folowing commands from a named.boot :

primary, secondary, cache (only "." implemented), forwarders, options, xfrnets, bogusns, check-names

folowing tokens are accepted from the data-files :

A, CNAME, SOA, IN, NS, PTR, MX, HINFO, TXT (RP will follow soon ...)

At present KBind does not write ANYTHING! It however DOES delete (truncate) your /var/tmp/named.stats ! (it should be not important, it is re-generated right after it :)
