RC Wars is a turn-based strategy game where you an another player take on the role of two kids battling it out with an army of radio-controlled vehicles. Players are given an amount of points to begin with to purchase units for their army. One can choose from an assortment of toys such as tanks, helicopters, and "rock-em-sock-em" robots and deploy them out on the game field to take on the other person's army. The first to destroy all the other player's units or take out their base wins.
In this game, my primary responsibilities consisted of the tile engine, map editor, unit path-finding, and target checking. The map editor was created using the non-commercial version of Qt, a cross-platform C++ GUI toolkit. Being essentially our first full game, we ran into a few problems, but learned from our mistakes. In the end, the game was more or less finished (despite a few bugs and missing features), and ended up being a fairly fun game.
